About
I'm a software developer and artist based in Berkeley, CA. I'm interested in art, technology, nature, culture, and ways they intersect.
For most of the 2010s I was doing abstract paintings and collage. Over time my practice shifted toward generative AI, photography, and digital media — working with pixel manipulation, randomness, and controlled chaos to create images that sit between intention and accident. I've written about this process in essays on chance and randomness, latent space as landscape, and AI art and authorship.
On the engineering side, I build websites and apps using React, Next.js, React Native, Shopify, and WordPress. I work with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase for backend infrastructure. I've shipped apps for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, and I've written about how I built Image Shift and Dark PDF Viewer.
I also do GitHub organization administration — branch rulesets, access management, and org-level policy — and I actively use AI in my development workflow. I work with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and local models, and I'm always learning how to better utilize agents and coding assistants.
